Dunlop FX guide

Dunlop FX: power, speed and explosive response

Dunlop FX tennis rackets are designed for players who want to accelerate the ball more easily, achieve greater depth and develop an attacking game from any area of the court. The range offers different weights to adapt its power and manoeuvrability to improving, intermediate and advanced players.

What type of player is the Dunlop FX designed for?

Dunlop FX suits players looking for fast ball speed and additional help generating power. Its response makes it easier to play with depth, accelerate during rallies and react effectively when you do not reach the ball in a perfect position.

The family includes everything from very light and manoeuvrable rackets to 300 and 305 gram versions aimed at players with better technique, greater stability through contact and the ability to swing quickly.

Dunlop FX models

Find the right Dunlop FX for your power and playing level

The main differences between FX models are weight, stability and how easily the racket head can be accelerated. Heavier versions provide greater solidity, while lighter models make movement and technical development easier.

305 g

Dunlop FX 500 Tour 2026

The most stable and demanding version in the range. It is aimed at advanced players who want to combine power, firmness at impact and confidence when striking the ball at maximum speed.

Advanced power and maximum stability
300 g

Dunlop FX 500 2026

The most balanced model in the family. It combines power, stability and manoeuvrability for intermediate and advanced players looking for a versatile attacking racket.

Balance between power and control
285 g

Dunlop FX 500 LS 2026

A lighter option that retains the powerful character of the range. It is suitable for players who want faster movement, easier handling and a solid response without reaching 300 grams.

Manoeuvrable power and speed
270 g

Dunlop FX 500 Lite 2026

A light racket for improving players who need greater ease of movement. It helps accelerate the racket head and achieve depth with less effort.

Easy playability and accessible power
255 g

Dunlop FX 500 Super Lite 2026

The lightest alternative in the range. It is designed for beginners, younger players moving to an adult racket and players who especially prioritise manoeuvrability.

How to choose the weight of your Dunlop FX

The 300 and 305 gram models provide greater stability as ball speed increases. They are suitable for players with established technique, early preparation and the ability to maintain good acceleration throughout the match.

The 255, 270 and 285 gram versions offer greater manoeuvrability. They make stroke preparation easier and may be more suitable for improving players, players with a shorter swing or those who prefer a less physically demanding racket.

Power, sweet spot and stability

Power does not depend on weight alone. Head size, balance and stiffness also influence ball speed. A more forgiving head helps preserve depth when contact is not made exactly in the centre.

Heavier FX models provide a firmer response against fast shots. Lighter versions encourage acceleration and manoeuvrability, although they require organised technique to maintain stability through impact.

Which strings should you choose for a Dunlop FX?

A control-oriented string can balance the natural power of the FX range. Players who hit with speed can use a monofilament that helps direct the ball and control depth.

A multifilament or hybrid setup can be used to improve comfort and make ball acceleration even easier. Tension should be adapted to the model, string type and player preferences. At Ipontennis, we provide professional stringing before shipping.

CX, FX or SX?

FX is Dunlop's power and speed family. For a more precise response, compare it with CX, while SX is designed to make spin and depth easier to generate.
