Important information: the stringing service is a technical and personalised service. Before ordering it, the customer must carefully review these terms and conditions, together with the Legal Notice, Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the General Terms and Conditions of Sale published at www.ipontennis.com.
1. Purpose and Scope
These Terms and Conditions specifically govern the tennis racket stringing service offered by Ipontennis through its online store or through the customer-service channels made available for this purpose.
These terms apply both to the stringing of new rackets purchased from Ipontennis and, where applicable, to stringing services carried out on customer-owned rackets sent or delivered to us for handling.
Ordering the service implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms and Conditions in the version in force on the date the order is placed or the service is contracted.
2. Nature of the Stringing Service
Summary: stringing is a personalised technical service carried out according to the configuration selected by the customer or, if no configuration is provided, according to the technical criteria applied by Ipontennis.
Stringing a racket is a technical customisation service that may include the choice of string, gauge, main-string tension, cross-string tension and any other configuration options available on the product page or during checkout.
The purpose of the service is to adapt the racket to the customer's playing style, level, preferences or needs, within the technical limits of the frame, the string and the general recommendations for use.
Ipontennis will perform the service according to the configuration supplied by the customer, without prejudice to any technical checks or warnings that may be necessary to ensure that the requested stringing setup is viable.
3. Stringing Setup and Tension Selection
The customer is responsible for reviewing and correctly confirming the selected configuration before completing the purchase or formally ordering the service.
If the customer does not provide any of the information required to complete the stringing, or if the information supplied is incomplete, contradictory or technically unworkable, Ipontennis may:
- contact the customer to request confirmation or clarification;
- apply a balanced or standard configuration compatible with the racket and selected string;
- follow the workshop's usual technical recommendation where the customer has expressly delegated the decision to us;
- place the order on hold until the issue has been resolved.
Tension selection has both a technical and a clearly subjective element. Ipontennis may therefore advise the customer, but cannot guarantee a playing feel identical to what the customer expects when the final preference depends on personal taste, playing level, court conditions, balls used or frequency of play.
Ipontennis may refuse configurations that are clearly inadvisable or incompatible with the indicative range recommended by the racket or string manufacturer, particularly where they could compromise the integrity of the equipment or safe use.
4. Preparation and Delivery Times
Important: orders that include stringing may require additional preparation time compared with a standard order without customisation.
The dispatch and delivery times shown on the website are indicative and may be extended where the order includes stringing, assembly, adjustment, customisation or prior technical validation.
The final preparation time may depend, among other factors, on the availability of the requested string, the workshop's workload, the complexity of the setup, the need to check technical issues, or collection and return-shipping times.
The customer therefore accepts that ordering a stringing service may delay dispatch compared with an order requiring no technical work.
5. Stringing for New Rackets Purchased from Ipontennis
When a customer purchases a new racket from Ipontennis and requests stringing before dispatch, the racket becomes a configured or personalised product prepared according to the customer's instructions.
The customer acknowledges that the stringing service changes the product from its original condition and involves specific preparation carried out at the customer's request.
For this reason, once stringing has started or been completed, cancellation, return or exchange of the personalised racket will be subject to the legally applicable limitations for goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised.
6. Stringing for Customer-Owned Rackets
Where the service is ordered for a racket owned by the customer, the customer declares that the frame is in suitable condition for handling, removal of the previous strings and restringing.
The customer acknowledges that a used racket may have prior wear, microcracks, deformation, grommet deterioration, structural damage or material fatigue that is not always externally visible when the racket is received.
Ipontennis will not be liable for damage resulting from pre-existing defects, previous impacts, earlier repairs, frame ageing, improper care, inadequate storage or any other pre-existing circumstance unrelated to the correct performance of the service.
Unless otherwise indicated for technical reasons, the service will include removal of the previous strings where necessary to carry out the new stringing.
7. Prior Technical Inspection and Right to Refuse Service
Technical check: Ipontennis may assess whether the requested stringing is viable before carrying out the service and may refuse configurations or frames that do not provide sufficient assurance for safe work.
Ipontennis reserves the right not to perform the stringing, or to suspend it temporarily, if cracks, deformation, abnormal grommet wear, structural damage, incompatibility between the racket and string, inadvisable tensions or any other issue is detected that could compromise the result or the integrity of the racket.
In such cases, Ipontennis may contact the customer to explain the issue, propose an alternative solution or cancel the service as appropriate according to the status of the order and any work already carried out.
8. Collection, Packaging, Transport and Delivery
Where the service includes collection and return of a customer-owned racket, the customer must package it appropriately for transport, with sufficient protection for the frame and handle.
Ipontennis will not be liable for damage occurring during transport where it results from insufficient, unsuitable or incorrectly prepared packaging supplied by the customer.
Shipping, collection, redispatch, return or other logistics charges will apply as stated on the service page, in the basket, at checkout or in the commercial terms in force when the service is ordered.
Delivery will be deemed to have been made to the address supplied by the customer during the purchase or booking process, and the customer is responsible for the accuracy and currency of the information provided.
9. Right of Withdrawal and Personalised Products
Important: in accordance with applicable law, the right of withdrawal does not apply, among other cases, to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised, or to certain services that have been fully performed in the circumstances provided by law.
Where a new racket purchased from Ipontennis is strung according to a configuration selected by the customer, that racket may be excluded from the right of withdrawal because it is a clearly personalised product.
Likewise, where the contracted service consists of a technical stringing service and it has been fully performed with the customer's prior consent and acknowledgement of the loss of the right of withdrawal in cases where this is legally applicable, withdrawal will not be available once the service has been completed.
Nothing in this clause limits the consumer's rights in the event of an error attributable to Ipontennis, damage caused by incorrect performance of the service or any lack of conformity for which the law provides a remedy.
10. Receipt, Issues and Claims
The customer should inspect the racket and the service received as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If any issue is detected in relation to the stringing, the condition of the frame or receipt of the order, the customer should notify Ipontennis as soon as possible through the customer-service channels stated in these terms, quoting the order number or service reference and, where necessary, providing clear photographs of the product, strings, frame and packaging.
String breakage resulting from normal use, progressive wear, off-centre hits, normal rubbing, impact with the court or normal playing circumstances unrelated to the performance of the stringing service will not be treated as a defect in the service.
11. String Durability and Tension Maintenance
The useful life of the string and the progressive loss of tension depend on multiple factors beyond the control of Ipontennis, including string type, gauge, applied tension, frequency of play, hitting intensity, the player's level, environmental conditions and the condition of the racket itself.
Ipontennis therefore does not guarantee a specific lifespan for the string or exact maintenance of tension for any particular period.
Any technical recommendations provided by Ipontennis are for guidance only and do not constitute a guarantee of any specific sporting performance.
12. Limitation of Liability
Where liability legally arises and is directly attributable to incorrect performance of the service by Ipontennis, Ipontennis's liability will be limited, as appropriate in each case, to repeating the stringing service, replacing the installed string or refunding the amount actually paid for the contracted service.
Ipontennis will not be liable for indirect loss, performance expectations, sporting losses, travel, entry fees, tournaments, inconvenience caused by delay or any other loss not directly caused by negligent or incorrect work by the workshop.
In all cases, nothing in these terms limits any rights granted to consumers and users by mandatory law.
13. Safekeeping, Collection and Communications
For stringing services involving physical drop-off, later collection or deferred return, Ipontennis will keep the racket for a reasonable period after completion of the service or notification to the customer.
If that period expires without collection, response or clear instructions from the customer, Ipontennis may, after giving notice, charge reasonable storage, handling or redispatch costs where necessary.
The customer authorises Ipontennis to contact them by email or telephone to confirm configurations, communicate issues, verify tensions, provide service-status updates or coordinate collection and delivery.

15. Acceptance of These Terms
Ordering the stringing service, placing the order or delivering the racket for handling implies that the customer has read and fully accepts these Racket Stringing Terms and Conditions.
Ipontennis reserves the right to amend these terms when necessary as a result of legal, technical, operational or commercial changes. In all cases, the terms in force on the date the service is contracted will apply.
