MUSE family guide

Yonex MUSE: fluid handling, comfort and efficient power for enjoyable play

Yonex MUSE rackets are conceived to make rallying feel natural, comfortable and mentally uncomplicated. The family aims to reduce corrections during the swing and support efficient energy transfer, with a Pearl Silver finish and a response suited to recreational players, instructors and anyone who values continuity.

The current Ipontennis selection includes the 265-gram MUSE 100SL, 280-gram MUSE 100L and 295-gram MUSE 100. All use a 100-square-inch head and allow progression from maximum manoeuvrability to a more stable response. The decision depends on how much weight you can move freely and how much support you need against faster balls.

Before deciding, compare the model with your current racket while keeping string, tension and grip size consistent. Perception changes between a short hit and a complete session, so include serve, return, high balls, defence and strokes played under fatigue.

How to choose within the MUSE range

The family shares one identity, but weight and geometry determine how much help it provides and how much technical demand it adds.

01

100SL, 100L or 100

MUSE 100SL is the fastest for compact swings, learning and players who need low inertia. MUSE 100L adds stability while remaining easy to handle. The 295-gram MUSE 100 provides a firmer response for adult club players, coaches or players who rally for long sessions.

02

Comfort that does not make you brake

Useful comfort lets you accelerate confidently rather than lock the arm. MUSE encourages simple preparation and a soft response, but weight still has to fit. If the racket moves too much against strong impact, move up; if you arrive late or squeeze the grip, reduce mass.

03

An open, easy-to-activate pattern

MUSE 100 uses a 16x18 pattern designed for string movement and accessible launch. This openness benefits from a string that preserves both control and elasticity. For recreational play or coaching, a comfortable multifilament or synthetic string can be more consistent than a stiff monofilament.

VCORE

Yonex VCORE rackets

Spin, swing speed and stability for players who shape points with heavy rotation. Ipontennis currently lists seven active models from 245 to 305 grams, including VCORE 98, 100, lighter versions and the Alpha range.

EZONE

Yonex EZONE rackets

Controllable power, a generous sweet spot and comfort for easier acceleration. The current selection includes six models from 245 to 305 grams, with EZONE 98, 100, 100L and Alpha alternatives.

MUSE

Synchro Frame, Uniform Impact Grommets, Servo Filter and VDM

MUSE combines ISOMETRIC with Uniform Impact Grommets intended to enlarge the useful area and a Synchro Frame designed to coordinate flex and energy transfer. Servo Filter and VDM contribute to vibration management. The purpose is not an extreme competition frame but a fluid, repeatable swing.

Judge the result in real situations. A recreational player may gain consistency at 265 or 280 grams; someone coaching, blocking volleys or receiving more pace may prefer 295 grams. The finish and matte touch belong to the MUSE concept, but weight, grip and strings still determine final comfort.

Final decision

Strings complete the response

A more elastic string adds comfort and depth; a control-oriented monofilament can organise launch when swing speed is sufficient. In both cases, excessive tension reduces the usable sweet spot and may harden impact. Gauge and replacement frequency matter as much as the chosen tension.

Do not automatically copy a professional setup. Their speed, physical preparation and restringing frequency are not comparable with normal club use. The best combination preserves control, comfort and confidence for a complete match, including the moments when footwork becomes less precise.
