EZONE family guide

Yonex EZONE: controllable power, a larger sweet spot and comfort

Yonex EZONE rackets suit players who want to accelerate the ball with less effort while retaining a stable and comfortable response. The eighth generation expands the effective hitting area and combines fast energy transfer with damping, making it effective for flatter strokes and moderately topspun trajectories.

Ipontennis lists six active models from 245 to 305 grams. EZONE 98 and 100 cover the main performance range; 100L reduces mass for easier handling; Alpha 245, 260 and 275 support progression and swing speed. The family lets players increase assisted power or stability without losing its recognisable comfort and lively launch.

Before deciding, compare the model with your current racket while keeping string, tension and grip size consistent. Perception changes between a short hit and a complete session, so include serve, return, high balls, defence and strokes played under fatigue.

How to choose within the EZONE range

The family shares one identity, but weight and geometry determine how much help it provides and how much technical demand it adds.

01

EZONE 98 or EZONE 100

EZONE 98 provides more defined contact and controlled launch for players who create their own pace. EZONE 100 adds margin, depth and help on off-centre contact. Alpha models are more accessible and manoeuvrable when learning, defending or moving the frame quickly is the priority.

02

Power you can direct

Lively launch helps a medium swing, but depth can become excessive if strings and tension do not match. Fast swingers should consider the 98 or a control string; players who need help clearing the net generally benefit from the 100 or lighter alternatives.

03

Comfort without losing information

EZONE dampens impact, yet a setup that is too soft can blur direction and one that is too stiff can remove its comfort advantage. Look for a response that lets you feel the target without slowing the swing. Appropriate weight remains essential against returns and heavy incoming balls.

These alternatives show whether the character of EZONE truly matches your trajectory and sustainable swing speed.

VCORE

Yonex VCORE rackets

Spin, swing speed and stability for players who shape points with heavy rotation. Ipontennis currently lists seven active models from 245 to 305 grams, including VCORE 98, 100, lighter versions and the Alpha range.

EZONE

Expanded sweet spot, 2G-Namd Speed and vibration management

The 2025 EZONE generation uses an evolved ISOMETRIC shape to enlarge the useful hitting area. 2G-Namd Speed supports energy transfer and rapid frame recovery, while VDM and materials such as MINOLON are used to soften vibration. The intended result is explosive power with a fuller, more comfortable feel.

Specifications vary by model: the 305-gram EZONE 98 requires self-generated acceleration; the 300-gram EZONE 100 balances power and versatility; 100L and Alpha reduce inertia. Before choosing, check whether you can control length on attacking shots and maintain stability when receiving a heavy ball.

Final decision

Strings complete the response

A more elastic string adds comfort and depth; a control-oriented monofilament can organise launch when swing speed is sufficient. In both cases, excessive tension reduces the usable sweet spot and may harden impact. Gauge and replacement frequency matter as much as the chosen tension.

Do not automatically copy a professional setup. Their speed, physical preparation and restringing frequency are not comparable with normal club use. The best combination preserves control, comfort and confidence for a complete match, including the moments when footwork becomes less precise.
