Prince Ripstick guide

Prince Ripstick: explosive power, speed and spin

Prince Ripstick rackets are built for attacking baseline tennis. The current range combines 100 square inch models at 280 and 300 grams with a more demanding 98 square inch O3 version at 310 grams. This allows players to choose between easy acceleration and a firmer, more precise response.

Player profile

Who is the Prince Ripstick designed for?

Ripstick particularly suits players who strike decisively, use topspin and want a lively response. The 280 gram Ripstick 100 is the easiest to move, the 300 gram version adds stability, and the 310 gram Ripstick 98 O3 is aimed at advanced players who can generate their own swing speed. Good preparation is important because the family produces substantial pace and depth.

Range highlights

Three setups for different levels of power and control

Head size and weight determine how accessible or demanding each Ripstick feels.

01

Acceleration

Encourages fast racket-head movement and an aggressive baseline response.

02

Spin and depth

Supports a high, deep trajectory when combined with topspin technique.

03

98 or 100 in²

The 98 prioritises precision; the 100 provides a larger, more forgiving hitting area.

Available models

Available Prince Ripstick models

280 g

Prince Ripstick 100 O3

The most manoeuvrable option for easy acceleration and attacking play.

300 g

Prince Ripstick 100 O3

A balanced setup combining power, spin and greater stability against pace.

310 g

Prince Ripstick 98 O3

The most demanding model, for advanced players seeking firmness and precision.

Weight

Choose the Ripstick you can accelerate with control

The 280 gram version reduces physical demand, while 300 grams brings more stability without losing too much speed.

The 310 gram Ripstick 98 requires established technique and should only be chosen when swing speed can be maintained.

Head size

Ripstick 98 or Ripstick 100

The 98 square inch head offers a more precise response and rewards clean contact.

The 100 square inch head expands the useful hitting area and makes power, depth and spin easier to combine.

Strings and tension

Which strings should you choose for a Prince Ripstick?

A monofilament with good snapback at moderate tension can control the family’s power and exploit its spin potential. Players needing more comfort can choose a hybrid or multifilament. The 280 and 310 gram versions should not automatically use the same tension because their demands and swing speeds are different.

Looking for a different response?

Beast offers more progressive power and a wider range of weights, while Phantom prioritises feel, flexibility and precision.
